It's a startup that focuses on home renos, so home contractors. A lot of those types of companies are not on LinkedIn, and if they are, they aren't super active.

These companies generally have 100 or fewer employees. Keep in mind these employees are carpenters, roofers and other types of contractors or sub-contractors who definitely don't use LinkedIn.

Joining industry associations is one way, these companies all have FB pages (cringe), and trade shows (pre show lists provide contact info) generally bring them out as well.

@aessk prospect companies, as in companies I'm trying to prospect into/do research on before approaching. Yes, it is super difficult to write compelling intros without LinkedIn. It's not impossible though, certainly have to do a fair amount of dialing.

Personally I find google/facebook ads that are routed to the website would be the most effective lead generation method. It's one of those markets that's generally underserved by tech. I'm wondering if it would be

I think sometimes through Google / news / Book of accounts that a rep gets in his region.

Can you clarify what you mean by prospect companies?

If I can't see a prospect's LI profile and their company profile I lack a lot of background context to send a well thought out message.

So you are using LI but not Zoominfo…correct? Do you have LI Navigator?

sorry just read question again. It’s rare the company is not on LI. What is the company demographic you are targeting? Might be useful to find company website and cross reference with FB and look up individual profiles on LI

What kind of companies, and where are you getting these lists?

I have to build the lists, the companies are contractors with 1-10 estimators, the target is home renovation companies

My guess is that Google will be your friend for this.

Does the BBB have listings? What used to be called Angie's List? Contractor licensing board?

that's what I'm thinking, a little harder to see who does what at the company this way though

You could look up contractors in your area, by the ones who are licensed and get that list of people and their numbers from the city. You can get in touch with house flippers, real estate agents, and wholesalers as well with google searches and facebook groups, build a network build referrals. 1 conversation can lead you to 100 owners of companies

this is really helpful! It seems like I'll have to take a more classic approach to sales rather than the current SaaS inside sales strategy.

Exactly. Even door to door just going to construction companies. Generally really easy people to talk to but you just have to get in front of them and get the word out there. You can still try the zoom info route and build that list of construction owners of a certain employee size though

Not the same industry, but after the slow down this summer I've started doing Field trips every two weeks to drop in on certain businesses I couldn't find any real info on. So far I have an 80% meeting booked rate after doing that, the clients love it

yeah that's a great idea for a few reasons
1. It's nostalgic, ppl don't show up at the door anymore
2. Shows you'll go the extra mile (literally)
