The hardest bit is the psychological effect. And you might start doubting yourself. So chin up and you'll find an amazing role soon!
As per question, took me a bit over a month.

Going through this right now and haven’t even been laid off. Nobody hitting numbers, pipe is dry and I’m just constantly worried about having to “tell the story” in interviews, which sounds like an excuse, etc… sucks, but glad to hear others go through it

That's honestly very encouraging! A month is not bad at all. I hope I'm as successful in my search.

Yeah also market's picked up a bit in last months and lot of places are prepping to hire for January if not already on the way. So you should target that if not something in November already. Tip: I think Supermetrics is looking to hire for East Coast US and it's a remote role. So if you match the role requirement, start hunting their recruitment down

You definitely start doubting yourself...I know I am. I have 20 years of experience and get 3 rejection emails per day.

It can take 2 months or it can take 6 months. The closer you get to Thanksgiving the more your chances are looking for the new year imo.

Does anyone have advice for how to apply? I’ve been doing a mix of LinkedIn Easy Apply and company website apps, around 9-12 a day. I just keep getting “we’ve decided to go with other candidates”

Use prospecting/AE tactics and extra effort tactics. Always do a cover letter, but instead of a letter record a video of what the cover letter would say.
“Work the account” - find your stakeholders(hiring manager, team members, potential boss) and put them in sequence or reach out to them and FOLLOW UP.
Pretend it’s a deal you’re trying to close and you’re qualifying if they’re the right fit for you and you’re the right for for them and you want to connect to do discovery to see if you’re the right fit for each other.
If you’re uploading your resume, use white space on your pdf to add the job description in pt 1 & white font to hit the triggers if they use a scanner.
Overall, do the AE skills as apart of your job search process.

It legit feels exactly like sourcing opps and funneling them through the sales cycle lol

Last year it took me about a month and a half to get an offer after a layoff (though it wasn't a very good role) and started after the new year. Been about 3 weeks since I was fired at my last job, and I've had 3 interviews, none were promising and only one is still an active opportunity. I anticipate this being a long process this time.

Last time I started applying when I knew the company was failing (during covid) - took me about 3 months but I was still employed at the time, and accepted the offer a week before chapter 11 - lucky.

This one is killer. I was laid off a year ago. Got another role a couple months later, laid it again 6 weeks later. Like the others said, the self doubt is the worst. It creeps in to interviews, application rejections, … all over.

In today´s world, finding something new incl. all interview processes if someone really tries takes around 1 month in my experience.
