Unless your cold call opening statements are bomb, you have a night-DJ voice or your company is a big shot, I don't think cold calls are working as much.
Before you tell me how shitty a cold caller I am, or that I am doing something wrong - I know that already. I'm talking more as a cold call receiver.
Let me start here:
- There are bots calling randomly with no qualification, no research done, no relevance most of the time. I got a call today from a BOT selling me WHEELCHAIR. Now you tell me why should I be needing a wheel chair, unless there's someone they appointed to break my legs when I step out.
- I then got a call from a lady who called me to ask if I need pregnancy insurance cover. I freaked out so much that I took a test, just to be sure, because why on earth did I receive that call ? I asked the lady, rather politely, as to why she called me. And she went bazooka "MADAM THIS IS COMPANY POLICY TO CALL ALL WOMEN IN MY LIST. DON'T ASK ME, ASK THE FIRM. DON'T ARGUE". While she has a point, but wtf?
- I don't think I have received a good cold call in ages now. That makes me pick up all unknown numbers with a frowning face and a sense of annoyance. If that's me (who's usually polite to cold callers), I am sure it's every second person out there.
Considering these points, I don't think cold calls will yield just the same result anymore. Blame them bots and automated dialers!
