Interview tips for AE role

hi everyone, I'm sr. bdr on the next steps of the interview process for an smb AE roles in a marketing platform. the next step is a mock role play interview, since I've never had any close expierence I wanted to get any advice and tips that might be helpful to crush it.

basically the interview is a mock discovery call with a potential smb client!

would really love any advice! I need to land this job, my mental health is at its limits in my current company.

Best advice I have got, in the role play of a disco/demo. Its a role play so create the scenario where they are going to buy, give them back story on why the client is going to buy now and make it very similar to a customer success story you can quote during it.

Shows you did the research and shows what types of questions to ask and the answers you are looking for.

An example being seeing a client story that they switched to your product because it helped make the sales process 50% quicker. Ask them "Based on the phone call we had, having a quicker sales process seems to be the top priority" They will say yes. Then you tell the success story.

***Also connect with a SMB rep and prep with them. ASK if the manager would want to be closed or set next steps. If they want to be closed, get a estimate in pricing from the SMB rep so its accurate

Care to share it? Hard to offer custom advice without a custom-er. Also, have you met the people you’re going to do the disco show for? Friendly audience?

Also, I noticed that in a previous post, you referenced a new territory as 2X smaller. Is English your second language? If so, do you have a Slavic background?

If, by some odd chance, you are from Eastern Europe, how do you feel about me? You trust me, don’t you. And when I say hello to you in your native language, you will think I’m a magician. The sales cycle just got 2X as short. 😁 If I’m wrong, I’m going to keep asking questions in that format until I find a way to earn your confidence.
