Is "Hope Is Not A Strategy" still relevant?

Recently red this book, then had a conversation with my CEO whether it's still relevant or not.

What do you think?

Totally misunderstood what you were saying but not familiar with the book so no idea.

This is a super lazy post btw. You should be summarizing and describing the content of the book and then asking if its still relevant.

Isn't everyone more or less familiar with this title?

Given there was an updated one written titled "Hope Is Not a Strategy: Simply Solutions for Doing Business in the 21st Century", I would assume not.

Also, after reading a summary, its not that the information is wrong in the book more that most sales people should know this

NICE.

Double points because the original post said he "red" the book.

Well played!

Only familiar with the statement that an old sales exec would say constantly on the floor. I thought it was a dipshit phrase then and now. It implies that hope has no place in sales. I know what it's trying to say, that you need to have a concrete plan, but it's so pessimistic of a phrase I've just always hated it and the douches that spam it to their underlings.

Oh boy
Yes. "Hope" is a prayer, not a commitment.

Good deals aren't based on prayer, Good deals are based on mutual commitments.
