Is this the end of my sales career?

Well fam, I pulled off a rather impressive gaffe today.

It is currently quite hot today in my homeland (37C, or 98.6F ...Farenheit is about the only imperial measurement I like).

As it's the first day of June, I am waiting until I turn on my AC unit. Too early in summer...right?

Being the greasy cheesburger bandit that I am, I have been working in my office today without a shirt on (man's gotta eat...).

Sadly, I forgot I was in this state, and logged onto a Zoom call with my shirt off....I was able to quickly turn off camera, as my client was 'connecting to audio'.

I'm lucky it's a very cool customer, and they didn't mention anything. But yeah, did they see me shirtless? Who knows...

Dude, don't give it another thought. I was on a call, colleague sharing screen. Meeting ends. I turn away. Colleague thinks he closed the meeting. He did not.I hear this from the client side, "why the fuck do you have that on your screen?!"Client's subordinate is asking the client... and is clearly appalled.

Client says, "that's not on my screen! That's on theirs!"

Yep, you got it, he was about to light up CornHub. And it was a career ender for him.

Well, I believe as long as the prospect didn't give a comment on that already so that most probably means that they didn't even notice,as incidences like these are to be flagged on the spot and if it was detected I believe your manager would have talked to you about it already.
So, I guess you were lucky that you made this time,but next one just try to be more cautious or at least use that CAM trick in which your available part ONLY is just your FACE!

I've answered video calls to the M.D. of my company with no shirt on. He did ask me to put a shirt on as the call ended, I'm not a total asshole, I had a shirt on a hanger beside me, but it was over 40ºC (104ºF), there is no A.C. in my office and I don't get paid to sweat my tits off. That was a couple of years ago and I'm still at the same company.

You might lose the account, but I'd say it's far from the end of your career.
