Glory days of unicorns and a glut of startups trying to be unicorns with VCs throwing money at them hoping something would take off might be over again for the time being. It's a correction we've seen many times before. Everyone looking for the next big thing and hoping to hitch on.
SaaS and software aren't going anywhere for a while. Belts may be tightening for the time being, but work hard and ride it out.

Did these ppl DEFINE what they "glory days" were?
software and saas specifically will be around for ever. or at least a REALLY long time.
Ive been in saas since 2018 (so not super long) but i have not noticed any change in the long term outlook.

2014 was my glory days - the VC money was flowing like a river, startups were throwing it around like something out of a music video. It was so much fun, the euphoria was incredibly contagious even if not much productive came out of it.

There are good days and bad in every sector.
SaaS is a delivery model, based on (usually) monthly payments. It's not going anywhere, especially with a weakened economy - few would have the money to pay for 100% of a solution upfront.
SaaS is how the world will move forward for the next foreseeable future.

I can say with confidence that the free money well will be dry for a while now and some tech companies will likely not recover their stock price this decade, and a lot of startups are absolutely fucked even though they think they're not... but I'm constantly looking for better software solutions myself.
