It’s time to move on

Due to a current divorce, and having a small child, it's time to make a career move that allows me more time with my kiddo. I'm a current AE for a major tech company and curious what I could transition into. Yes, the commission won't be as sweet. But need stability and gurenteed income. Let me know if y'all have any recommendations of where to look.

Sorry for your situation. I would say look at SaaS, simple transition and then an opp to keep making money.

Just keep putting your kid first and everything will fall into place. Divorce sucks balls.

Sorry to hear. My first thought is a CSM or Project Manager roll just to have a non-quota based position.

Really sorry to hear that, hope you are doing well mentally. That can be a super stressful time.

By saying stability, are you meaning guarantee pay or job safety? If you like being an AE a lot, it might be worth seeing if you can negotiate a different split assuming you are at 50/50. Potentially a 80/20, if you really like the role of an AE/company but its the guaranteed income you are looking for, I would potentially start there.

Sounds like you might just need a better sales job, unless you suck at selling. Find a good B2B role. The schedule is predictable, the money is good, and the whole machine can be very reliable.

Sorry for your situation... why can't you make it work where you are? Good, experienced people are hard to find... you might be surprised at their response.

What sort of sales are you in now? If you can get in somewhere w unlimited pto that actually believes in it & is remote … you can keep the pay and make more time w the sweet kiddo
