Just Learned that My New “WFH” Job is Mostly In-Person

Most of you know my saga already - but as a quick tldr I decided to accept the Senior SDR Series B tech sales position :)

I went out to a team dinner with my new team this past week and learned the above.

For context: I was told contractually and verbally by the CEO that the job was 3 days remote and 2 days in person. However, over dinner, I was told that they're in the office 4 days a week from 830-5 and take Fridays as WFH days.

I don't have that much of an issue of it being an in-person gig - my last job was entirely in-person - but I really don't like the dishonesty. I am willing to put in the work but this really sets me off. When the fuck will I ever find a job that doesn't involve dishonesty from the get go?

Overreacting? How to proceed? Share your knowledge with me savages.

Did you ask (politely) about the discrepancy between what you were told during interviews and what was disclosed?

One would seem well within one's right to inquire.

Haven't yet. Figured I'd ask about it on D1.

When your shipping address for your company laptop was never asked for, that would raise some hairs. Is the other gig still available?

Yea well it's either this or we go back to the job that offered me a gig in London lying for a living.

Sounds like your team is a bunch of pushovers with zero backbone.

Stick to what was offered to you, and if there is retaliation in the form of bad leads or lack of mobility, then you know what to do.

Yea the thing is - I'd actually be more than fine with 4 days in person. My prev job was fully in the office so even 1 WFH day is great.
What grinds my gears is that it's obvious that there was some dishonesty here. Even if it's a 3-day WFH policy and other employees are coming into the office 4 days a week - that should be told to me either verbally or contractually before I sign.

That's suspect. See how you like this place, but it's not really a good start. Keep an eye out for other red flags.

If they'll lie about this, who knows what else. Poor precedent to start off on.

What does the contract that's in writing say?

They worded it cleverly: “Up to 3 days of WFH per week”. I didn’t even think twice about it when rereading…

I’d ask, but I also like in person, if you have an issue definitely ask

it does create bad impression, you also decided to take the right step i.e. communicate about it

Sigh, you're free to bring it up and ask about it because it is some bs and the dishonesty at the start is concerning, however, if the team is hitting numbers and cool, then hopefully it is the only blip on the radar.

Embarrassing to ask but how do you find a new AE sales job? I'm an AE (5 years exp)...
