Link to audio file in cold email?

Testing: Anyone every drop a link to an audio elevator pitch in cold email? Seems test worthy. Sent 40 last night. None opened naturally. So flying blind. The audio is 1 minute, compelling if it gets ears...I think.

Hi {Client},

3 lines of "regulation coming" scary don't get caught email text. Then this:

......

This is what The Whitehouse thinks (link)

Worth exploring what regulation will look like for {company}?

You can hear me out here (audio link)

I look forward to your reply.

Would you include a link to an audio file in cold email?

Alternatively - an embedded video can work, it makes you human and you can cover the same points.

I am usually skeptical of links or files attached to email from someone who I don’t know who it is.

That being said I am curious if you get any feedback on it.

Nah fam. Waste of time.

Shorten your cold email outreach to 1-2 sentences. No links.

The only goal you should have with cold outreach is getting in touch with the right contact.

"Hey customer,

Referred your way...are you still the best contact regarding (insert whatever you sell/market) projects?"

Three possible outcomes...

1. Yes they are
2. No they aren't and they tell you who is
3. They don't respond

All 3 can then be followed up with a call 2 days later.

1. "Hey customer, thanks for confirming...go into discovery"
2. "Hey customer, referred by billy jo dibble shits...go into discovery"
3. "Hey customer, dropped you an email, I know your crazy busy. Hey by chance do you handle blah blah blah"

Ill add that I NEVER reference a failed attempt to contact someone. I don't want their "guilt" of not responding to be the reason they don't reply.

NIce add- you mean like this?

Just a friendly note to bubble my email to the top of your inbox ever so gently. I understand you're busy.

If nothing is working, might as well try. But I assume there are better tactics with tailoring and shorter emails

Aren't spam filters more likely to flag an email with a link? Also I don't even click unsubscribe links out of fear that I am being set up.

I don't click links as a personal policy, and sadly most orgs I've worked for have strict link policies like that.

I think embedded GIFs are probably a safer route.

No way this could work in my space - enterprise SaaS, even if a cold email with a link passed the spam filter somehow, I doubt anyone will click it.

I never click on links or watch videos. They annoy me - but that is a very personal thing and I may not represent the vast majority of the TikTok generation that doesn't freaking read a damned thing.

It may be a better idea to add this link in the FUP or in the 3rd mail. This way, the first mail has any link and the open rate does not get affected.

IT departments train their employees to never open links or attachments from unknown people and to be suspicious of ones from internal and known users.

You are probably just getting your messages blocked by the email filter.

If you are giving a link don't shorten it with bit.ly or others. Just paste the whole link in there so it can be copy pasted into a browser and the user can see exactly where they're going by clicking on it.

IF YOU MUST!! post your content on youtube or another 'reputable' site.

Absolutely not- audio links look super sketch- everyone’s on decently high alert for phishing anyways- only way this works is via video from like vid yard or something where prospect seeings a thumbnail of you and knows it’s a pitch but is intrigued enough to let you try.

if you wanna go the straight audio route, work on building connections via LinkedIn at your prospect accounts- once connected you can send audio / video recordings of yourself and might be more successful not many are using that channel and it’s all within LI so not risky meters going off for links.

When it comes to cold calls, looking for the most minimal effort with something that solicits a response... I think that making them click and listen to an audio is gonna take a bit longer....

I talked my way out of it entirely. The idea came from engagement starvation in a very niched and forward looking solution. It was a fleeting thought. Nobody clicks nothin any more.
