Mac or PC?

Gonna start a fight with this one.

Ok. After 10 years my Macbook Pro is starting to show its age. I'm worried it will up and die on me in the middle of the work week at this point. So I am going to be shopping for a new work computer over the next month or two.

What do you savages prefer for work tasks? I'll leave a poll for Mac or PC. But I would love comments on why you prefer which one.

As a side note I am already planning to buy a (relatively) inexpensive gaming tower PC for my free time, so I am more just looking for what you prefer for a work computer.

Which computer do you prefer for work?

The only preference I have is that I don't have to use my own device. I've heard horror stories of companies being sued and laptops seized as evidence only to be returned years later. Plus, I really don't want to clutter my own computer with work stuff.

I've used both, but since I prefer PC for my personal use, I'd probably lean Mac just to get some practice using a different type of system for a change. Speaking of, my last employer issued us Macs. I was fired back in October and I've yet to get any instructions for sending the laptop back. They've bricked it, so it's just a fancy paperweight now.

Sounds like they don't have any plans to get it back. When I worked corporate jobs I required a company computer and I wasn't picky what that was but since I started contracting full time I have to use my own shit. Thanks for the reply!

I used to be a PC guy but the Mac is just easier to use for shit I actually care about now.

Anything but PC with full Microsoft suite is not a professional tool. End of story

On my desk I have a MacBook Pro, an Apple iPhone, 2 27” Apple displays, a wireless Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse, an Apple iPad, Apple AirPods Max and AirPods Pro, an Apple Remote for the Apple TV on the TV behind me.

So, yeah. PC

I like Mac for work and personal but some of the new Thinkpads are pretty slick. I'm working with one now and find it comparable to a macbook in terms of ease of use and function. I still think MacOS is easier overall but thankfully Windows is getting better.

I have been subjugated to older PCs at work and they make me understand the utter hatred people have of them. Legit missed meetings because an old Dell I had would literally just refuse to start or run at a decent pace some days.

I've only had a Mac for the previous 6 roles I have been in, wouldn't even know where the power button is on a PC

PC for work. I've had a Mac for personal use, was fun to play with, but I'm just way more comfortable with Windows.

Also we're a major Microsoft partner, so even though like half our team uses Mac I went PC.

Sidenote: I actually don't hate Windows 11 now that I've moved the start menu back to the bottom left. WTF is with that middle shit?!
