Mood right now after getting rejected after the 3rd and final interview

video cover

Got let go earlier last month and have applied to close to 300 SDR/AE jobs and got a rejection after the 3rd interview today.

Had 8 screenings/interviews this week so since I'm on unemployment time to crack a cold one and scream "OH BAAABY YOU, YOU GOT WHAT I NEED"

Itโ€™s rough out there right now. Try not to get discouraged. Hope things turn around for you.

The market is rough. What's even more annoying, 3-4 companies that I had second and third rounds with, got back to be saying "they're no longer hiring for the position, budget issues, etc"

I feel some of these companies are trying to get free email templates for certain accounts they're trying to reach into ๐Ÿ˜‚

But for the other people in the same boat as I, keep at it as it's a numbers game. But time for me to get day drunk lmao

Wait - have you actually been providing samples to these companies as part of the hiring process? Ouch.

That's hilarious b/c you're also giving them free marketing collateral as well. UGH sucks you're between a rock and a hard place brother, but you'll be out soon. Keep pounding and something will open up!

Have you tried anyone you sold into or set meetings with that may need outreach but doesn't have a "hiring" sign on? You've already proven effectiveness to them once.

Come one Bud,you would nail it next time!
Moreover, I can see you were an SDR before so you would be able to do it again&getting a 26 upvotes at your first post definitely means that you've got something to add to your next role too, lol.

Sounds like youโ€™re getting traction. Make sure you get feedback and apply it to your next interview process. As others have said, itโ€™s extremely competitive currently. You have the right attitude and will land something eventually. A highlight of my most recent search was applying for a role and getting an automated rejection within 10 minutes.

Definitely take some time to recuperate, but then get back at it! Wishing you the best in your search.

Have you exhausted your existing network?

Mostly exhausted my first person connections. If nothing is looking good this week, I might dive into the 2nd connections of my close coworkers next week.

That is a lot of companies. I'm very sorry it's taking you so much effort to find something new.

Are you finding that you're stalling out in the same place routinely, or is each one at a different stage?

Of the 20 companies or that I got a call back. I've had a few not make it past the first recruiter call. A few stall after the first real interviews usually with an SDR/AE manager. I've had about 4-5 say in the middle of the interview process that they "stopped hiring". I've only had 3 final interviews.

So all over the place.

Also I've been messaging the hiring managers on LinkedIn about follow up, I set up a phone screening today for a place I applied to almost 2 months ago! So

Don't give up bro.

It's Thursday right now. There's no shame in saying fuck you I'll be back Monday or maybe even Saturday or Sunday.

These things are so far out of your control. But you know what isn't? Going out on the town, partying it up, and playing hard.

It will all be worth it in the end, trust. After I was let go from my previous position due to downsizing the inside sales dept in April, I had multiple interviews with this one company I really wanted to work for and I received a response from the hiring manager asking if I were to accept the position how soon would I be able to start and I let them know "as soon as you need the position filled". Followed up by text and email, and saw they had read receipts on :,) It has been over a month, and haven't heard back. Fast forward to today, I ended up finding a way better opportunity and I am loving the new position.
