Unless you're selling a POS system, make sure whatever software it is integrates with a POS system.

i think selling software to restaurants is super risky and sounds really hard. BUT if you did have experience in this industry it does make sense.

Are you offering to make dials for other ppl?

My thoughts exactly. I interviewed with a Mid Market all-in-one POS, and have been flirting with a few others but communication has slowed this week for all of the likely reasons. 🤷‍♂️

Anyways, so that’s why I’m here, figured I’d get out there and stir-the-pot a little.

Thanks antiASKHOLE

Venmo for tips, that’s a space that would be a blast.

I was speaking with a recruiter recently but conversation have slowed in the past week or so. Holidays or recession 🤷‍♂️

Do you have experience with Toast you’d be willing to share?

So true. Their profit margins are so slim as it is, good luck getting them to spend money on something else.

Bars are a better option for that industry.

What other routes would you recommend when transitioning out of hospitality? Definitely open to suggestions.

Literally read my interviewing posts and job hunting posts - you frame your career how you want to to land any role into any industry

Id suggest cyber, data, ai. Most needed and growing and AE potential is starting at 100-200k vs for restaraunt it topping out at 80k pretty much

Yeah restaurants are a very oversaturated place. Unless you have something revolutionary it's very hard

What kind of software are you thinking? All I come up with are POS systems.

There are niche software solutions like, Venmo for tips. But for the most part POS runs the show with software.

You mentioned above that you spoke to Toast. I can tell you that many tech companies have slowed hiring. It's not all doom and gloom, but no idea when things will turn around. I can just say to keep your eyes on their career pages and work on your resume (LinkedIn page).

I got my start selling to restaurants. Just be prepared for lots and lots of volume in your cold calling. We would make 100-200 dials a day to set a couple meetings.

The hospitality experience could be good for story telling in your pitch, however, just make sure you arent calling during peak/busy service hours as you will get cursed out.

Go after restaurant groups/hospitality groups with a corporate HQ. Don't overlook country clubs and cannabis dispensaries as they operate similarly to restaurants on the back end.

Good luck! Selling into restaurants will be a more difficult sale going into this downturn. They generally get hit first and the hardest during these types of downturns.

I don’t get your headline. Be an SDR to learn sales from the bottom up? But SDR’s don’t sell…..in most places.

Grab a field based sales role. You’ll learn real real fast when you are face to face with people.

PS. Check out Phone Ready Leads and the people who run it. You might have more of a chance doing that with them.
