Need help with an SDR interview task

Hey Savages


Need your help with something... I'm interviewing for a SDR position with a solid cybersecurity company. I got sent a task to complete by EOD Thursday. I'm confident I can crush the task, but want to make sure I'm asking the right questions upfront as the Director of Sales and Business Development manager are both included on the email.


Here's the task:


1) Identify 3 target prospects that you would target in an outbound

campaign for *company*. Please provide their:


Name

Job title

Company name

Linkedin profile link


2) Create an email sequence that you'd use to engage one of the

prospects you've identified, with the objective of getting them to

book a meeting with us. All aspects of the sequence (email subject

lines, touchpoints, and content) are up to you.


Here are the questions I have so far:

  • For task 1, can you please provide me with examples of your ideal buyer persona?
  • For task 2, Can you please share some case studies, reviews, or testimonials? (there are none available on their website)
  • Can you please share 3-5 of the biggest pain points *company* helps their customers solve?

Anything else you would make sure to ask to stand out?

With all of the free resources on the planet housed on YouTube, Formstack, etc, youโ€™re asking us to do your homework?

Take this as free advice: if you canโ€™t do this on your own then youโ€™re going to find real world SDR work terrifying.

Check out the company website and find use cases, see what titles they have on there giving quotes, pick similar ones at your target company. If I were you, Iโ€™d pick a few, write similar, but slightly different emails to each (changing it based off of what you think the title cares about). They want to see a call to action (โ€œhow does next Friday at 3pm work for you?!โ€), that you did research, and made some educated guesses. If youโ€™re not already in an SDR/BDR role, then itโ€™s ok to be wrong on some things, donโ€™t need to be absolutely perfect (theyโ€™ll coach you anyway).

They work with some big logos, they just don't have anything clearly showcased on their website. A quick look at G2 revealed some killer reviews for small, mid-size, and enterprise customers. Most of them are verified reviews, but anonymous.

Do you know if there is already an SDR team in the company? Sounds like they could really use a whole bunch of interviewees to give them leads and a solid plan of attack even if they dont get the gig

I would generally agree, but they already have a full SDR team. This is an expansion hire, not a replacement.
