New sales role AI start up

What’s the best way to ramp up quickly in a new sales role Senior Enterprise SDR?

Context.

The company has around 200 employees but there just now building out an actual sales team. 90%+ of leads are inbound. 500-1m ACV.

I’m told I will be prospecting inbound leads to start with and then I will focus on outbound.

What can I do to quickly ramp up?

Congratulations on the new role.

Prospecting inbound leads = basic research and discovery which is a lot different than outbound.

I suggest, start building a network of the relavant POCs on LinkedIn and start talking to IB leads about references in the industry.

That’ll be helpful in quickly ramping up. Start outbounding already. Inbound won’t take all of your time so devote most to outbound.

Also, make note of challenges these people might be facing, use it in building OB cadences, messaging and what not.

Last thing, do everything to keep your pipeline ready when you shift to OB, to escape the initial dry run.

What else would you all add though? How to quickly ramp up in an OB function?

Quickly ramp up on inbound leads? Have a good script to qualify if they lead is a real opportunity. Thats really it. Practice it and know it inside and out. Have a goal in mind (demo, sale, …?). Make it easy for the lead to open up.

Who is your sales leader? CEO or VP of Sales?

Director of partnerships and VP of parternships, they don't have a VP of sales. 99% of the revenue so far has been inbound due to viral product launches. They hired me as the first ever SDR to get oubound and inboudn into motion properly.

Okay. Are they building a hypothesis and your job is to test it, or are they entrusting you to wander into the west in search of gold?

A bit of both i would guess more of the latter which I am not happy about but the company is too good to pass on

Are you set up for success? Have you built that playbook before by yourself, or are you walking into a buzz saw?

Built it out before on a lower level for £50k ACV agency product, but this is an enterprise £50k-£1m ACV AI product, very different.
