Other than being an AE/CSM/Manager/Marketing, what other roles can a SDR realistically move into ?

Typically SDRs move into the AE role, or CSM, some even become managers and even a few move into marketing.

Curious to see what other paths an SDR can move into, that are realistic.

It's a job skill. It doesn't define you as a human. We get to define our future. Hiring managers don't. Figure out what you want, not what a job description says you can have.

Bingo.
One's first role doesn't define them.

Yes. But when applying for jobs it’ll say “we need {enter job role) experience” or they’ll say “you work in sales why XYZ”.

That’s the problem I’ve seen.

Listen you can apply for an entry level anywhere you want. You must know what interests you because possibilities are endless.

Totally get that - but that would mean taking a pay cut in most cases, wouldn’t it ?

Nothing specifically. I’m a at a stage in my SDR journey, where I’m considering options.

I know the regular options are available and definitely achievable for me. However, I am genuinely intrigued to see what else outside of the norm an SDR can get into.

People say being an SDR opens doors, I just want to learn more about the career paths out there.

You can always look at roles that interest you and work backwards to a path that will get you there.

SDR definitely helps with confidence, professionalism, perseverance- all of these translate anywhere. It doesn’t help with certifications or skills training for unrelated positions, so if there’s something that interests you, look at what the prerequisites are and see if you can deal with those.

Being an SDR introduced me to the world of software, and big data.
Just being here has opened my eyes to a lot of different roles/functions I never new existed.

Exploring non-quota carrying roles such as Revenue Operations or Sales Engineering: These could be options for those who find prospecting customers uncomfortable but enjoy their current work environment. It may, however, take longer to reach a six-figure income in these roles.

Almost anything that's not technical, if you are not from tech background and aren't looking for one.
Founders' office HR as well needs outbounding, so yeap. Almost all entry level jobs, I am guessing.
