Our team missed the mark by 27% this last month - B2B

We had a busy month with one of our industries big tradeshows coming back and of course, everyone was on vacation, so there's that as well.

I personally had my best month of the year so far, but as a whole sales team we struggled to deliver. We have 8 total sales territories across the country. We sell a very specific family of products and we have to increase the production for August.

As the new guy on our team, I am going to be on the phones all month, asking for the sale to fill our production pipeline for September.

How have you handled this scenario in the past?

You had a good month, but it's not reflected on the overall production numbers.

Let your numbers speak for themselves. You're new so don't poke your head out of the ground. Let the leadership find you and although I'm not understanding your context, keep chopping wood.ย

Thanks @FlintIronstag

This was good feedback for me to hear. I generally have a tough time not being noticed / recognized. I will make an effort this month to be noticed for my production, and not because I am making extra noise.

Everyone wants to put themselves on the radar of leadership, but once you're on it, you can NEVER come off of it, unless you don't work there anymore.

Most people don't weigh that. They stick their head out, reap success for a few months and then they start working their way towards the door even if they don't know it. Chop wood and if leadership finds you, it's all good from there on out. Good luck!

As you said it's prime time vacation season. The good news is school systems should be back in session this month. You have a good plan in place, and I'm sure your numbers will come back up.

I haven't heard of pace, pace, lead but I can see how it's similar. You are assuring them they are heard, relating to them and their scenario, and then showing them why you are the answer!
