It's better than having to get leads through prospecting... but also brings out the political side of sales and can take your mind out of the best interest of the customer.

Especially if your partner has serious leverage over you as a lead generator, you have to sell their product at all costs from a referral, or you risk your pipeline, job, and potentially business.

On the plus side, there are not many better feelings than closing a co-sell deal, I'm usually happier for the partner rep winning than myself. Partner selling also expands your network and reputation as a seller to a specific industry which can help for future job hunting.
