Personal email? wth?? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

I have been talking to a prospect on Linkedin from a prominent corporation. It has been clear it's about an offering and they give me their personal email instead? This happened now for a third time. Isn't this weird?

โ€œThanks for sharing your email, Tommy. Just sent you an invite for XX/YY. What Iโ€™ve witnessed in the past is invites getting lost / not popping up when sent to personal email IDs. Are you against sharing your corporate email where I can send the same invite to double sure it doesnโ€™t get lost?โ€

Eh depends. I have clients who are big - like government big - but the town they are in is poor so they use personal emails instead of Outlook.

Iโ€™ve had this happen before but in one situation it was done deliberately. This was a case of a CFO that was getting ready to retire and didnโ€™t want to share intel over the organizationโ€™s work email for confidentiality reasons. Thereโ€™s nothing wrong with asking for someoneโ€™s work email, but I did want to bring up another point of view. Also, if youโ€™re messaging someone on LinkedIn, more often times than not people provide a personal email rather than a work email. Iโ€™ve actually had some success reaching out to these personal emails โ€” at least initially, to get a conversation started.

Do you have Lusha, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Seamless, or any of the other email database providers?

Find it, hit them up with a *Knock Knock, IT ME* in their work inbox.

Doesnโ€™t hurt to ask for the work email. You can easily scrape the email of this contact or anyone else from the tip caffeine shared. All the best !

So,what was their reply when you were asking them for the business one instead, just to validate their reasons why they didn't wanna share it or gave it as a first option!!

Sounds like everyone just really likes you, and wants to take the opportunity to connect on a personal level.

If a deal is closed outside the CRM, is it really closed? YES!!!! We just add the info later.
