I think it's better to be you (natural) and not sound robotic. 

Keep a couple of key points near to refer to but not an entire script.

I keep everything in OneNote.  Scripts, notes, etc.  Don't always need a script, but I have it there for reference.  Good to have for new product lines or changing up your tactics.
