Q: How to find more leads ?

I'm just getting into the industry and my first company is a startup. And my company is an outsourcing company. We provide web building, app design,CRM design,... The majority of our previous deals came from my boss's connections. We don't have any proper sale procedure like SDR-AE. And since i'm a new kid on the block,I don't have any connections or reputation on the market yet.

Being said,my question is that how can I find more prospect or should I find another company that has a professional procedure ?

If you’re a fairly new rep, I’d say you typically want to find a company with a good process, tech stack, and training. It will help you immensely for your future in sales.

But there’s also the argument of figuring this process out now - if you can build the companies messaging, find prospects consistently then honestly you can figure it out at just about any company.

Figure out who you’re NOT (what your company doesn’t do and who you’re not for) which can help you realize your ICP. Make a spreadsheet of what problems you solve (not features or services you provide) and who needs those solved (ie your personas).

Apollo is a decent free tool to get around 50 new prospects a month. Pay and you can get even more. Good luck!

Figure out what problems you solve, who has those problems, then figure out where to find those people - where do they hang out?

I agree with this, if you can find a trend on what type of companies have been successful with your product, it will make it much easier to prospect. Starting completely cold is extremely tough, so best of luck!

also, go back and talk to the last 10 people who bought from you / your company and ask them why they decided to work with you. They may give you answers you were not expecting, which might help you identify new problems that you solve.

Great point. They may even give you some referrals. A lot of sales reps don’t ask or do this at all - could be missing some low hanging fruit.

I would meet with current customers and learn why THEY bought it and like, talk about who it helps and why. Helping now the messaging to use when prospecting

I would start off by interviewing the companies/users that your boss brought on. Learn what issues/problems you solved and then start to build out personas and ICP's so that way you can start building out a target list of companies that would fit within those ICPs.

I like the use the "pick up the phone" method. It usually works.
