i have not experienced this personally, but i think this means there is a good chance you will receive LESS equity than you do now.
i wonder if we will see more of this since many groups look to this rather than raising a down round.

Any time Equity (and I don't mean the gender type) is touched its usually a bad thing for the rank-and-file workers. It means those who hold the purse strings aren't happy and they are going to squeeze more blood out of the company.
Restructuring of the equity and debt for the company which is good as long as it won't impact the profit of the shareholder!
You are going to be wiped out. Might be worth it, but should be prepared
