Relationship Management Tools - Not CRM

Hey, curious to ask - what tricks or tools do others use to keep track of relationship? I'm not looking at hard data but rather soft data like birthdays and personal information that helps you differentiate you from other reps.

I used to text myself details and then started bridging them into CRM notes but there has to be something out there that is better.

Why not CRM?
Could use something like Evernote or notes field in LinkedIn

Long client relationships come with me not the CRM. I’ve jumped companies a few times. The CRM does well with short term deal oriented data but not well with the established long term relationships that I’ve built up over years.

@tierra: If I'm understanding this correctly, what you're looking for is a personal CRM that you can use/refer to always, regardless of what employer you're working with. Is that incorrect?

I think you're right, based on what I've read.
Like a Rolodex, but virtual.

Long term client relationship come with me not the CRM. Helps out in the short term but hasn’t worked well when I’ve jumped between companies.

I usually have it a 1 page layout so I can scan it briefly.

Which business are you in? Is it a more B2C customer driven business or B2B?

I don’t see any use of tools here tbh. CRM and Calendar does my job.

work calendar for birthdays. if you have a mac using the notes tab can be great for this as well. Also FWIW scratchpad could be a good potential solution.

I use the CRM for that info. And calendar in birthdays and milestones when I learn them.
