RSU allocation-

we moved to a a high transparency model stating our ratings would dictate merit.
instead- I got a Higher rating- and Lower RSU allocation. My company values the lower performing white male to me despite performance. why.

So you’re paid more but get fewer stock options? I’m not sure how to translate this info.

I take it your company's rating model didn't account for proofreading or coherency? I don't get what you're driving at here.

dude WHAT!? your company allows your coworkers to dictate your merit compensation? Like anyone??
this sounds like a terrible idea. Tell us more about how this works!

If the ratings are supposed to dictate the stock allocation- what else could I attribute getting paid $40k less than a peer who received a lower rating? If not being male, and buds with my VP?

1. How do you know you are getting paid 40k less?
2. I'm pretty sure they are going to tell you that others pay is none of your business(while if what you say is true, should still be addressed) also, that person may have been a better negotiator when it came to his pay
3. Can you go above the VP?

4... this sounds like a terrible way to conduct reviews/business.

I got their review email instead of mine on accident. Shows our ratings and grant allocation. I have a higher rating and $40k less in stock.

Are they newer than you? Did you both start at the same time? give us the whole scenario, not just what fits your narrative.

I understand your point of view that I’m making this about something it isn’t:
We moved to a new model this year to make it strictly metrics based. If you were in role 12 months only that time period matters for grant allocation. The amount you get is tied directly to the four ratings we have. I have the highest- strictly due to performance metrics.
Is it not reasonable to expect I’d get similar?

Also, why is everyone an asshole?
I mistakenly got their stock email- saw their rating was lower. Yet their grant significantly higher. Same title. Same boss. Would no one else be pissed?

It would have been best had you explicitly explained the situation in the original post. It wasn’t clear what had happened. Now that you’ve explained, it does make sense. And yes, I’d be upset.

It’s information you now have, intended or not. Save the email to your personal drive or email so you have a copy. Then I’d forward to management, ask for a meeting, and ask what this is about, since you’d moved to a new model and you were supposed to be awarded based on your merit. Then listen to the answer. How they respond will inform what you do next.
