Just curious. Bonus points for including the burn rate your company is operating on, if applicable, in the comments.

Is your company profitable right now?

For the person that said yes, are you sure about that? Revenue positive ≠ profitable

Are you questioning my statement or is that the reaction you’d have to someone saying that?

I said yes. Just because they announced during the last QBR with our corporate, that we have been profitable for the last 12 months running and gaining on that. Which makes no fucking sense why my role is being eliminated....

and that was on Monday

Jesus. Sounds like the time our CFO said we had $100M cash in the bank and would hold for 3 years run rate…and laid us off a month later.

I honestly have no idea. I’m in a private company, lots of foreign investors, lots of overseas R&D and sales activity. I certainly hope we are 😉😉

I say no because we have missed our overall targets in last two quarters by a lot. And I mean a lot. And maybe we are just over profitable line but still.

Your companies should be having quarterly all hands where the CFO reviews the numbers. If they don’t, it’s not a great sign.

I'm in the fintech space. ~20 year old company. Plan is to be profitable by end of 2025. Haven't paid too much attention to most of the details because I never planned on being here 6 weeks, let alone almost 6 months. I think the plan is to go public. Whatever.

I have yet to work for a SaaS company that is profitable. Hell, the last one was over the moon for getting to cash flow break even.

Woah, 50% work for non-profitable companies? Am I wrong to be surprised though?

You are wrong to be surprised. I would be surprised if it wasn’t quite a bit more than 50%.

I think we have a year or 9 months of cash, but we are getting and keeping paying customers. So there is that.

Not even close.

We raised at a 400m valuation (I think) with less than 200k in ARR.

I even think my company is primarily still run by one founder with almost no huge outside investors with almost a 1B in revenue
