With the caveat of those who aren't socially awkward... I know plenty of sales reps who are lovely and seemingly personable on the phone/Zoom but are just a nightmare in a tradeshow/conference setting.
Also would make sure that if I'm sending more than one, they get along for the most part or have some similar interests outside of work for the downtimes to build the relationship.

Really? That's fairly surprising to me.
The first time it happened to me, I was absolutely shocked too! I was at a conference with one of our seemingly outgoing and bubbly reps and when it came to engaging with strangers and having conversations not directly related to the conference, she shut down.
It was borderline embarrassing but just goes to show how comfortable people are when theyโre hiding behind a computer screen... โ๏ธ๐ธ
