Satellite SDR Course?

Context:
Currently work at an inventory mngmnt software company that's stagnant, too old style and doesn't stand out from competitors. My role is undefined, I've taken the initiative and expressed interest in helping wit gaps that I identified such as implementing hubspot (many of their problems come from not having efficient tools) Ive also tried to improve some internal organizational processes in the past by expressing interest in becoming their PM, Scrum Master and even starting a CS dept but leadership is very resistant to change and I'm hungry as heck to grow career wise (36yo).

In other words, the gatekeeping is serious and sr management has stubborn and narcissistic tendencies that dont allow room for growth.
the question,
Due to competition being huge right now for someone trying to get in tech sales, would this be a good move considering that they partner w/ companies looking to hire from them?

curious to know if any of you tried it.

Are you asking if you should leave your current company?

Not sure what the good move your referring to actually is?

Leaving for a competitor?

I’d only leave if I find something better

I don't think anyone knows exactly what you are asking in your post.

Can you provide more context? What's your goal?

Would the satellite sdr course be a good thing to transition or should I just keep cold emailing, calling and networking w people until I catch some interest. Curious if anybody here attended that program in the past?

What is the satellite sdr course? Not familiar.

How does that help address any of the issues your facing in your current role?

What I'm reading is that your leadership isn't giving you much rope to develop business...

It’s an SDR accelerator that partners w companies looking to hire first time sdr’s (like TrainYo)

It wouldnt fix this company’s problem, itd just give me a chance to transition into tech sales, since ive notice nowdays most wont hire without some minimun SDR experience on paper.

Never heard of it.

Considering there are companies hiring still and you have experience...I'd say that may be a waste of time and money.

Have you applied anywhere?

I'm not sure what the request is here. You want advice on the course? A new gig?

Thanks, they’re actually good people but everybody is caught up in their own stress and problems. Lack of communication and collaborative spirit is one of the main issues, along with not understanding what true leadership means. Wish I could help them more but it’s starting to affect my motivation and positive outlook on things.

It sounds like you''re interested in making a career move to tech, but are concerned you don't have the SDR experience you think you'll need. And you're looking at a course that it appears most or none of us have heard of to provide you that experience.

My concern is that this course isn't going to provide that experience, because employers are most likely looking at number of months/years spent as an SDR/BDR already, not a course completion or certification.

Have you tried applying for jobs already? There are recommendations here regarding making a resume more tech-friendly (focus on metrics and achievement that may be relatable rather than job duties and tasks), as well as posts with the tech companies still hiring, so you could start applying now before you've spent $$ on something that may or may not provide you benefit.

There's also a tech sales academy here at Bravado - the fee is refundable once you've completed the course. You won't get certified or anything, but you will learn relevant info about the industry.

Thanks, appreciate the time you took to reply. Yes, I've been applying. Had 2 legit first-round interviews but made some mistakes that I'm improving and hoping to not make again. I get a bit nervous and talk too much/say random shit.

Since I have no SDR experience, I've been practicing my cold e-mail and linked-in messaging with the goal to demonstrate that I have some skills.
(thinking this is the best strategy at the moment, to just keep improving and getting creative with my outreach?)

The sales academy that I mentioned is free but will consider bravado, just in a tough $ spot atm.

Appreciate your reply fam.

Ah, "free" means "why not?" to me, if you have the time to do it. Glad you're not looking at some overpriced course that may or may not be good. Looking forward to the report back, and hope it helps.
