Split of base & commish. Weekly reports without micromanaging. Monthly goals and annual goals. I let them be adults, they donโ€™t need to check in with me for shit. Only thing that matters are results.

See our current team are all early stage salespeople with their current SDR roles being first sales role for them, so people need a lot of hand holding and support

Ok then morning meetings and use activity tracking software. Have mini teams with leaders managing the day to day workload.

I'm working in my first sales role with a bunch of other first-time SDR's. Our company has a 15 min stand-up on Wednesdays and Fridays where we review our daily activity metrics and overdue tasks (if any).

I think it keeps new reps accountable to completing all assigned tasks in cadence and ensuring volume of new leads is consistent.

We also track some performance metrics like reply rates + connected calls per meeting booked to ensure that we're executing on the cadence effectively.

To me, it doesn't feel like micromanaging - just accountability for the goals and metrics that were communicated to me when I signed up.

I spent time breaking down numbers and talking with them about what the team goals are, not just their personal ones.

If we need 100 meetings for the month, I'm breaking down the number of meetings that need to get booked each day by the team (with conversion rates in mind) in order for us to hit or exceed on that number.ย

Another thing is that everyone is motivated differently, some people it's by making more cash, others it's by knowing their contributions matter or they are making a difference. It's up to you as a leader to figure out what it is drives each individual and incentivize based on that.

What I can tell you is the best way to unmotivate your team is to raise quota (especially with out raising OTE)

How would you interpret the role of SDR Team Lead on a Resume? Would you view it as a managing role?
