Anyone here thinking about braving the move from a mammoth org to a startup? Or choosing between opps at a large vs small org?
I'm here to answer the age-old question: yes of course size matters.
Everyone has an idea of what it’ll be like to work at a startup: hoverboards, open-concept work stations, pingpong table in the corner, Coors and kombucha on tap, endless 'healthy' snacks no rational person would ever buy themselves...
...which come to think of it isn't entirely wrong. But it takes a specific set of skills and mindset to be successful in this lean n mean environment. You have to be ready to train yourself and take the pressure of the company's monetary success riding on your back.
