We're not really big enough for that, but I feel like the number of SKOs in general has been waning significantly for the last few years. Especially the lavish in-person ones.

We are having a virtual this year... combined with 4 weeks of sales enablement so it is a bit meh.

Honestly last year in my last company our CEO said that it was going to be the last SKO as the sales team + associate departments was now at 1000 people. We had layoffs 48 hours before we we're due to fly out.
He stated if he could have he would have refunded the money for the SKO but everything was already booked so they went ahead with it

That's not awkward and demoralizing at all, jeez louise.
Honestly that wasn't even the biggest drama. CEO no showed the SKO he came out few weeks afterwards that he had cancer. Well and truly rained and poured as much as it could during that time
Also pro tip, if you're using expensify for SKO or worldactions, expense everything on the fly right there and then. We had a 99 USD budget per day and I was expensing alcohol too, by day 3 we got note youd couldnt expense drinks anymore so everyone who was saving their receipts got a bill for it but i had already gotten my money back

I agree with most of the other comments, it seems like the number of in-person big kick offs has gone down. We have one upcoming, but since it's limited to less attendees most of us have less excitement about actually being there
Have mine coming up in person. Last year was a long week, so hoping to keep the after hours in check this year so I can fully absorb the content
Mine is in a week, I always feel like kick-offs are huge wastes of time and money but alas I'm getting paid to go to it
