Sobriety on LinkedIn thoughts

one thing that I've noticed is a big trend is on LinkedIn people talking about putting down alcohol.
I think it's good thing and I encourage people to do what they must to live healthy lives and be their best selves.
I don't drink nearly as much as I used to (approaching my 30s), but I don't feel the need to shove it out completely because I've never had a problem and always kept it under control.
but at the same time I don't make friends, colleagues and business partners feel bad if they don't subscribe to my way of thinking. as long as you have your shit together, you're not an asshole about it and you're happy I don't care.
but I'm starting to notice it's almost becoming like how people used to treat smokers in the early 2000s and people are starting to shame people who drink on LinkedIn and push their beliefs on others. I hate people like that.
I just find it funny that for a platform where people encourage people being themselves,  betting on themselves and prioritizing your passions - that it can be so damn judgy and preachy.

Get off LinkedIn. It’s a shithole, just like all the other apps.

If you’re not grinding, doing hot-cold therapy, an extrovert, or the leader of your elephant walk, then you’re a pariah. So fucking ridiculous

The only thing I shame people for is joining the war room and promoting their own product/company/sales course or regurgitating some Li bullshit.

You like to drink? Drink. I do. Love a good old fashioned.

You like to smoke nuggies? Smoke away Cheech. I love some good quality herb at night with the wifey.

You like to microdose? Me too! Sometimes I push the limit on the weekends.

Live your damn life and find your happiness. Quit being boxed in by others. Have original thoughts and opinions.

Sorry I'm fucking jacked up today WR.

Judgy and preachy are what every social media platform becomes, particularly ones where virtue signaling of whatever kind is trendy.

Yeah, you're right, no platform should be used as a judgemental tool by any means on people's thoughts and behaviors.
All portals should just talk its business and for LI and doesn't have to get away from just JOBS, JOBS, JOBS...

I think your LI algorithm needs to change as I have not seen this at all. I know a few of my friends who quit drinking, and thats great for them, but I also don't think that LI is a place to be shaming others about personal choices outside of business.

Having worked for a couple functioning alcoholics, I applaud anyone with the discipline to leave it behind.

In sales, we tend to be hard chargers, type a, etc. drinking can easily get out of hand.

I don’t drink, but I don’t let that define me. You do drink, but don’t let that define you either. .

I don't care if people drink. Like you.
However, I don't like to be pushed to join in

I never understood y people drink alone. I could never as a college student. Nobody really cares if u drink or not as long as it's in moderation and have positive correlations overall.
