Stressed Management

Hi everyone! I am currently in a very busy time at work and it seems like my manager is stressed too. They seem to not be able to allocate time to teach me some of the tasks that need to be done during busy season but expects me to complete them. How should I navigate having a conversation to address this. Thanks in advance!

Here’s a thought. Fucking figure it out on your own. You pull that off and your management will stop hiding from your needy ass. It’s a two way street. Now go

Have you tried asking to have the conversation? Schedule a quick 15 minute call, I’m sure they can spare it

Just be extra blunt. Tell them exactly what you told us. Good luck.

Do as others have said, and get a meeting on the calendar with a clear agenda to review expectations. 15-30 minutes.

Work with colleagues who know the tasks so you aren’t stuck. But whatever you do, don’t do nothing and expect that to be ok. Do the best you can and stay on top of things as much as possible so that you can catch up.

To be blunt, figure it out. Management pays you for a reason and they need to be able to justify it. Not being a dick.

I was the dick. But I think it needed to be heard.

Have the hard conversation. Be honest, firm, but respectful and tell your manager exactly what you need from them.
If they can't make time, they aren't fit to lead people.

As a senior leader, it is my utmost priority to ensure that my sales team can always come to me if they are stressed or in need of assistance. They are the driving force behind making things work, and without them, I am nothing.

I agree with others here. Schedule a meeting in a hurry - you need to have a clear agenda about what is stressing you out, what you need help with, and get straight to the point.

It's impossible for a leader to read your mind and know what you need help with - clear communication from the start is what gets you the farthest.
