Structuring your own/future sales savages comp plan?

Hi fellow sales savages,

I'm currently in the final lap for an interview as VP of Sales for a startup, and I've been tasked with laying out the compensation plan for myself, and by proxy future sales team members. I've worked primarily in large scale (ACV >100k) software/hardware sectors with long sales cycles and pretty rigid and tangible compensation plans; however, this new org is a SaaS product with a relatively low monthly cost (~100$/month). I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their comp plans from previous subscription based programs of a similar price tier, or hear if anyone has advice on how to navigate this. I'm already thinking of doing a different commission split on existing business (renewals) versus new business, but I'm curious as to what the industry standard might be. TIA for all your help!

If there’s a contract, lump sum a %. If not, offer a monthly residual which shifts seller focus to LTV, which is critical at that price point.

Happy to - they aren't the exact same industry but they're based on getting new contracts. How did you want me to send this over? It's two excel sheets.
