Be straight forward. Call them and remind them of what they said. "I am calling because when we spoke back in April you said Sept was a better time to meet. Have I missed out or would next Tuesday at ____ work for you?"

Sometimes simple (and honest) is best.
And things legitimately, and significantly, pick up right after Labour Day.

Plus, I always cut the time they tell me to reach out in a 1/3. They say reach out in 6 months, you bet I'm emailing something in 2 to make sure I'm on their mind.

yeah calling is always the best solution. And Indeed remind them of the "commitment" they made

Can you share some more details on what you do? Segment, industry etc.? What stage are you at in the cycle?
I like to provide value at every step.

"We spoke in <month> and agreed that now would be a good time to talk. What does the upcoming week look like....?"

I think the "summer ending" theme in messaging is about as valuable as "We're red hot to clear the lot" at a car dealership. If you're going to conjure up a reason to call someone, that's fine. Just make sure it's a valid reason.
Anything else sounds like "how bout now? ready now? you said now!"

Donโ€™t be shy or stranger to them. Pick up and call. Remind about the past conversation. Ask them if they free today tomorrow etc for a meeting rather than asking when they are free :) all the best

Just reach out. No need to feel like you're bothering them. They told you to do it, so do it. And even if they didn't tell you to do it, reach out anyway. It's an email.
