Target tech sales industries for a new grad

Which industries (companies if you can mention them) would you go into if you were graduating today and wanted to maximize compensation?
I was thinking:
- Cyber security
- AI
- AR/VR/MR
- Logitics software
- Robotics
- Fintech & Blockchain tech

Security, Fintech, and logistics. No Blockchain.

Personally, I'd avoid logistics. So many of the roles are high volume boiler room environments.

Security 100% and from what I've seen that's where the big money is at too. Lots of options within the cyber security industry, find a niche and run with it.

Your list is very good. I think the last one may be the most unclear/undefined. Security is never going out of style.

@Opal @CuriousFox @1nbatopshotfan @braintank Thank you, all! Any cyber security companies I should be taking a look at? Also, would you recommend doing a couple years at Oracle or SalesForce then pivoting?

Whoever is fixing the log4j issue lol. Seriously tho, spread the resume far and wide and interview a bunch.

I'm in a business that helps identify and remediate log4j. In the past week we sold what we'd typically sell in a quarter. Security is good business.

Oracle no. Unless you want to work with a bunch of boomers. Maybe Salesforce if they have a good training program, but I've heard it's hard to succeed there becuase of saturation. I've heard Cisco has a good sales training program but that place will suck the life out of you quick.

Check out RepVue and see what's being said about security companies, as well as the others on your list.

I'd take a look into martech and adtech. Selling to great personas and it's a booming industry.

Cybersecurity sells to a tough persona and can be fairly complex if you aren't technical.

In my very biased opinion Cloud, hands down.

If you can hang, the world is your oyster on your next opportunity as Cloud is the basis of most SaaS apps and encompasses AI/AR/CyberSecurity etc.

Good rule of thumb, boring shit makes money.

AI/AR have some sick use cases but they're never a business priority and they're pretty affordable compared to other tech.

BlockChain is sexy but the world can go on without it.

Infrastructure(large part of Cloud) is the backbone of any IT Department and therefore always a large investment.

Security is also a necessary investment.

If Cybersecurity is an interest for you, Crowdstrike could be a company you could look into
