I worked from the Middle East (Jordan specifically) for 3 months or so in 2022 (long story involving my father-in-law's health). But I was selling to companies in the US and Canada, just working odd hours doing so.
My degree is in Middle East Studies, and I know Arabic (though not as well as I'd like) and from time to time I peruse job boards to see what positions might be available in the region. Almost every position I've seen is geared towards government/defense (which I want no part of) or are restricted to nationals of the country the job is located in.
Since I've never interviewed for any of those positions, I have no idea what the pay or comp structure is. I do know that if you're American you'll still have to pay taxes on the income even if you're living overseas.

I did - it's a good market. You'd have to educate them a bit more on the ROI side, what is technology, what it does etc etc. Good money.
What tech sales did you do there? and are you based there or did you find a job and then move there?
I was an AE - it was the market that I was working on.
