Thanksgiving Eve

Is is just me or is going out the night before Thanksgiving overrated? I feel like I usually end up staying home and getting semi-blitzed with my family cause I haven't seen them for longer than I haven't seen my friends?

This year we are doing a hockey game...gonna drink some cold LBLs and be happy

I don’t anymore. We have a football team reunion turkey bowl game 9:30am on Thursday every year. Full contact + hangover does not mix well.

I didn't know that Thanksgiving Eve was a party night for some people? News to me.

If I do remember correctly, Queen Coups, your kingdom is located to the north of us, so maybe its different. But in the states its arguably the biggest bar night of the year

I used to do that when I was in college and a couple years thereafter, but I don’t end up doing that anymore. The Thanksgiving eve crowd has become more of my younger siblings age/crowd

I, too, am going to a hockey game...but it's game 1 of Silver Stick for us.  By some miracle, we weren't scheduled on Thursday itself this year.

You aren't by any chance going to be at our game, are you?  ;)

We're actually having to miss the NHL games that are being played two of the nights we are there, because the boy has games scheduled at those times.  Bummer.

I bet!  Hoping for a good outcome this year.  Missed 1st two years ago by one bad bounce on an opponent puck into the net.  Got the invite anyway due to the goal differential, but didn't take the trip to Canada.    This team wants to win that lovely silver stick.   :)

We'd be flying, hence the decision not to go two years ago.  It was also 1 week after another tournament we had scheduled in SoCal, so it was just going to be too much.  We'll see how this year plays out.  Thanks for the thoughts!

I used to partake in wild turkey Wednesday at a major dive bar back in my hometown but we don’t travel home anymore for thanksgiving. So this year I will probably make some White Russians or old fashions and sit by a bonfire.

I have some beef (or turkey to stay on brand) with working on Thanksgiving. We get run ragged all year long with so few totally sanctioned days of rest, we should really take advantage of this breather. Just me, open to other opinions though as per yooj

Biggest drinking night of the year! Although I’ve hit a brewery these past few years and avoided downtown.

When you go to college there is something about the next five years.  You miss your friends and think that high school was the "good old days".  It will pass.
