Torn between two roles

I was previously cut from scaling in my current SMB role and am now debating between returning to my previous employer in mid market or exploring an early stage opportunity in the cannabis tech industry. 

I had left the previous employer prior to the current role due to lack of momentum in the upper segments but have a good rep where coming back wouldn't really ruffle any feathers and the founder texted me asking if I'd consider coming back, the early stage opportunity would be more of a growth opportunity but there would obviously be more risk involved here at the seed stage. 

Curious on what I should be asking both to be making the right decision here? any help would be greatly appreciated
