1) I used to compete nationally in Olympic weightlifting and never took a protein supplement. Just ate a lot of food.

2) Yes, and the wedding was great but my CEO was pissed about a 2 week honeymoon.

Hol up - you wouldn't even take whey protein?

Nope. Lots of carbs, adequate protein through meats, beans, etc. Only time I’d eat a bar is if I needed to have something while traveling. I was eating 4500+ cals a day.

Interesting, I was always told to put on muscle I had to eat my weight in grams of protein everyday, is that a myth then?

Totally depends on the person and the training requirements. I had to maintain or stay close to a certain body weight. More muscle mass on was fine as long as I was losing fat, but losing fat meant less energy for 20+ hours or training per week.

Never had protein powder but when it comes to whey, most are manufactured by a few companies and repacked by various sellers.

1) I go to the gym to stave off dad bod. No protein powders for me.
2) Nope. I did delay putting in my two weeks notice until after I was back from my honeymoon.

1. I usually go to the buffet, sorry can't help you there.2. Planning a wedding is a fulltime job based on what I saw my wife go through (shes a control freak so I only got involved for affirmation and when she got completely stressed out). I would advise a wedding planner and trying to let go. We had one but my wife still did everything.

Chinese ones for under $10 are preferred. Then you play roulette with their international/sushi section.

So true! Our local Chinese buffet closed several years ago. Gone, but not forgotten.

I can help with the wedding, try to knock out something everyday. Especially with the quick hits like contacting vendors.
As for having the wedding and honeymoon within the first year, 99% of people understand its a major life event and respect the time off. Plus you are new so expectations are lower

I can comment on 1 - for protein powder it really doesn’t matter which brand you use.

Many are all produced from same ingredients or manufacturers and just branded differently. So just don’t pick the cheapest and you’ll be fine.

Can't help with #2 but I like protein powder from Earth Fed Muscle.
Small business family, tastes pretty good. I hear a lot of people like Ghost whey protein too because they have so many different flavors.

To answer number 1 - when I use protein powder I usually use a clean whey protein. I keep it simple with no extra flavors.

Wedding?! Let the bride figure that out. 🤣🤣

My wedding was a while ago, but I did get through it while working. The job wasn't new, but juggling work and planning worked out - laser focus on being organized. It's just another sales cycle. ;)

I like wheybolic it’s lighter on calories and carbs

I moved jobs and got married two months later, by that time a lot of the planning (my wife did) was done though

1 - Whey Isolate.
2 - I started a new job right after my wedding/honeymoon. Quit the old one a few days after coming back, with solid notice of course.

For the second point being a newbie and have a major life event ongoing they would simply understand and definitely there won't being any massive expectations on you till after your honeymoon and till your ramp period is over!

the best protein source is real food. However if you need some additional protein jus get a whey shake
