War Room training program - would you sign up?

It just occurred to me, that given the number of users this community has, and some of the advice I've seen in the past few weeks (that's how old I am here), there's terrific no-bullshit-at-all content and know-how here. Some members keep giving and giving, and that content is neither indexed nor ordered in a certain way, though I'm pretty sure we could create a sequence out of it.

I've taken hundreds of hours of sales training, and I myself have trained some others. One goes by one's book, or you just follow a certain methodology and it's rarely a collective effort.

So I thought, what about a training program created by the WR and vetted by the top contributors/most experienced sales/training people in the community?

@sahil have you guys considered this, or does it make any sense at all?

Something along those lines is coming. There are tons of new releases coming soon that the Bravado team has been working their asses off on.

I think I heard about a potential mentorship program on the roadmap?

That's fantastic to hear, even if it doesn't come out right away, I'd definitely want to know more about this one.

Cool, a shiny object for people to get distracted by when they're not even hitting minor KPIs at their 9-5 jobs!

Theoretically, the concentration of potential talent in one specific skillset is really high in here. You have a lot of people who are good at - and passionate about - one specific thing. That’s a really special combination. We’d be dumb if we didn’t get together regularly to share knowledge. I’d set something up myself if I wasn’t switching jobs and moving at the same time. When things settle for me in a few months, I will set something up if someone else hasn’t.

"We’d be dumb if we didn’t get together regularly to share knowledge." I think you're absolutely right there, that would be an interesting add to a training/development program for sure.

Do you really think the world needs more sales training courses?

Maybe it's just me - but that's not what I'm looking for when coming to this app.

Bravado seems pretty good about not pushing some BS - but I see some comments about training courses on the way..... So I guess we'll see.

That's a fair pushback. I don't know about yet another training, but what about one you really want to take?

I don't know what I don't know -

I couldn't tell you a sales training course that I really want to take - not sure I could name one I've taken that I'd recommend to others. Curious if you have some in mind?

Should there be one? Yes
Should it be crowdsourced? Absolutely not

Too many salespeople following different methodologies, all being successful in different ways, therefore everyone is right.

E.g. Some SDRs treat it as a numbers game, blasting the same shit out, others take a super personalised approach - both hit their numbers. Which one is "right"? Which style do you train?

Nah, too many egos for collaboration methinks

That is a great pushback. Egos can get in the middle, but I also think that if you nest post and users down by topics, you can extract the most important ones without asking the actual user to "teach". For instance, I think all SDRs can benefit from learning best practices on mass emailing vs cold calling. That could be a topic, as long as it's repeated by enough people in enough posts. The WR would then pick the title and based on existing content, create a training track.

Would something like that work better you think?

I think sales training is largely bullshit.  Every book or training program all says the same shit in different lingo.  What I would sign up for is mentoring/buddy system type thing.  Where WR paired up folks for mentoring sessions, Q+A, etc. I'd dig that.

I think that makes a ton of sense actually, and I think there’s a lot of people here that would sign up for that too. The WR could institute a mentoring program (with voluntary mentors of course), renewable every quarter or Half for instance. That would be interesting.
