What could I do?

Ok, so I been cold calling for close to 3 days and I haven't stuck anything. I been trying to sell graphic designs and web design (and web development) and so far I got a mixture of "we already have something like that" and not even given a chance to rebuttal, most of them not even picking up and a couple (only 3) promising to call back (they never did). Like I got to know how you guys are doing this and how I can get through this?

Also I'd finding people/business on Google map a good idea? If not where could I go to find clients?

3 days. That's nothing...

Gotta figure out who you're targeting (and why) then your script.

What can you share?

So long story short, I'm in a start up company in Europe ( boss name is Brent parys) whose products consist of general design products and advertisements (menus, billboard design, cards ) the target audience I been going after has been smbs, small restaurants, apartment complex, and like 2 churches (at least the one I went after). I also don't have a script and so far I been just keeping with the same opening

"Hello this (insert name) from (insert company) and I was wondering if I could have a few minutes of your time to talk about our product?"

And beyond that it's just winging it and hope they even stay (winging probably isn't a good use..more of convincing them to buy due to a good price). Sadly I don't get that far since it's usable no one picking up, a response of "we already have someone for that" then hangs up before I could hit them with a rebuttal, or not being the manager or art director and telling me they'll call back when thier here....and Nothing from it again.

never expect someone to call you back. just be ready for that.

I would change your opening to something like:
"Hi (insert their first name), this is (your first name) from (company name) how is your day going?
Good, i was just giving you a call because I see you are the (job title)
Does that mean you handle (insert area your product is in)

then if they say yes now its your job to ask a few questions to better understand their situation. and if they are a good fit close the call with something like

"so it sounds like if you had a some thing that could (insert 1 or 2 use cases) it would be really helpful. Would you be open to diving into this more? I know I caught you out of the blue but i think it would help for me to explain a little more about X. Do you have time next Tuesday?"

there are a TON of different ways to do this but this is just how i have had success

so you're new to sales and getting very little help or coaching. Welcome to the club.

You need to ask yourself "if someone called me offering to me what I sell, what would get my interest?" You need to answer that. What value do you bring to the prospect? Why should they listen to you? Those are questions you need to answer in the first 10 seconds.

this is solid. Always turn it back on your self. if you got that email would you reply, if you got that cold call would you hang up? good gauge for success

Have you been in sales just 3 days? I’m a bit confused on that part.

Cold calling is a numbers game. If you have a pool of 100, you’ll get some interest from 10, and sell 1-3. Which is better results than cold emailing, IMO.

You need a mentor, or a good manager at least, who can sit with you and work on your script, your call list, etc.

Good luck.

3 days... man it must be tough.

The numbers all even out. I remember going a few weeks with less than 5 new meetings set and then the week right after setting 18-20. Or days that I would make over 200 calls and either just schedule 1 or 0 new and then other days schedule 5-6 appts in less than 30 calls. It's all numbers and consistency.

Are you the only one in your role at your company? Are there other SDRs? If so, besides the excellent advice from Tennisandsales as to how to modify your pitch, is there anybody who has been doing this for a while who can provide some guidance?

There used to be, but they were freelance types and hoped to other places....so far it's just me.

Learning from those who are doing the job and have some insight/practices to share is always the best way to go, if available. Since it's not, I'd lean into Tennisandsales' recommendation and keep going.

Ok so first off 3 days is nothing. You can talk to SDRs who have been doing this for 2 years and they will tell you that they can go 3 days with NO ONE picking up and then the next day set 4 meetings. its just how it goes.

also, you need to get good at understanding what they may currently have to solve the problem you solve for.

hopefully your solution is different and its your job to highlight those differences when you get a chance.

Very hard to set a meeting within your first 3 days. You dont know why the product truly matters to the person you are calling, especially if you are in a start up when they dont know about you.

Give it time, do more research vs calling

Segment and target people who need your services. Get why it’s valuable to them or even try to get some ROI numbers you can use.

Also we are in a recession. Everything that does not clearly impacts top/bottom line will have a difficult time. It s not a great time to sell nice to haves

Sounds like you might not be targeting properly.

I'd be looking at selling web development specifically to businesses making a transition to online sales. Something like a Mom & Pop shop that is growing.
