My measuring stick = what the prospects commits to at the end of a call.

If they're giving me cell phones, emails, screenshots on current process, or introductions to other stakeholders, I know it was an effective meeting.

I do it by email before we meet. The meeting is a pitch. I do it as part of the pitch meeting. I have a discovery meeting that is separate from the pitch.
