What kind of roles should I be looking at from my experience and salary to ask for?

Started off career in a unique account management gig (upsells and renewals) but was only there for a year.

Take an SDR gig since I always wanted to be on the NN side of things, only lasted a year.

Take another SDR gig, get promoted to AE after a year, and spend an year as an AE before some major personal life problems got in the way and I had to take time off at work. Was only making a 60k base as an AE.

Take another AE gig but only last 4 months in it, do not even put that on my resume.

Take an AE gig for six-figure base at a startup and getting laid off at the end of this month, been here for 9 months.

What kind of roles should I realistically be looking at and what is a fair salary for me to ask for?

As far as salary, always aim up, and look at Repvue to get an idea of what’s going on in your region.

I'm right there with you. I got laid off from an AE job with a $75k base salary. My next job was at $50k base, and I ended up PIP'ed and canned. Starting to think getting back to $75k is a pipe dream. Even contemplating going back to SDR and restarting my career to get out of this rut.

AE roles similar to what you just left. And at about the same comp.

That's awesome, but you were pretty fortunate. I know salaries are higher in the US, but TBH that's pretty damn high for someone with that much/little experience.

You gotta know your worth, but it's also dangerous to anchor yourself to an amount that is far off the norm.

Yeah, I would say 80k is a fair ask for a base

I absolutely agree with that, especially in a HCOL
