What makes you different?

It's all about the customer experience these days. Rightfully so, considering the difficulties of building rapport with clients in a digital-first world. As a sales community, our tactics had to pivot tremendously. We need to be more thoughtful with each interaction we have with our customers.

Regardless of the past or present, our customers are bloodline. With that said, I'd like for everyone to take an introspective look at themselves, and ask, "Why do people buy from me?" and "What separates me from other sales people I know?".

I am a pragmatic c-type (DISC assessment) who doesn't dance around and gets straight to the point. I won't give you a song a dance, and I won't jerk you around when it comes to pricing and timelines.

Same. I think being able to speak candidly about the "hard" points of securing a business partnership is invaluable. There is a lot of reps at my company who are great but balk at the last minute in straight up asking for the business.

All-day long, I walk away from deals as well, letting the client know if we have to talk once a week it's a bad deal and I am not your guy.

I flat out tell people the code to Tyson. Here are the answers you need to give to get your best deal. Then I execute.

Ah just crack a bit of honesty - "I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't tell you this'

'I don't want to sound cliche sales but...'

honesty gets a long way.

For me it's a combo of both Me + what I have to offer.. I try to give my prospects what they want, I try to tell them what they want to hear.

Tbh I think the majority of the people in this forum are direct as fuck. That separates us from the majority of people, who aren’t as nerdy about sales, and aren’t here to contribute. . All the responses say the same thing. Get to the point, and be straight up along the way. Works pretty much every time.

*This is my answer to my own question - I found another forum that had a similar question and answered it there too.  Read it twice.*

Accountability.  I close sales because I only focus on the opportunities that offer full transparency.  It's an agreement I make at the beginning of any interaction.

"(prospect name), I appreciate your time.  In regards to time, the best results of these meetings come from a fully transparent conversation.

The only way I am able to provide you with a tremendous customer experience is if we remain on the same page throughout this journey.

Regardless if you go with my solution, or we find that another solution is a better fit, let's respect each other's time and efforts.  Can we agree to that?"

Transparency is key, and once they agree then you've earned the right to hold them accountable.  It comes down to respect - they need to humanize you and realize your time is worth as much as theirs.

I would (and have) sold my product to my family. So guaranteed I'm not trying to fuck you over in a sale. I aim to give knowledge and help you figure out why I sell what you need.

I practice empathy, compassion, and kindness.  I also figure out/learn internal processes so I can get my orders fulfilled faster.
