Laid off took 3 months to find a new role. I worked of course, but it was part time. Shit happens sometimes. 🤷♀️

Laid off after 9/11, took a while to find my next role, which sucked. But- at that awful job, I met someone who recommended me at the company I next joined, and that was the springboard for everything else! Seriously, all of you who may be in a bad place now…if you have a good network, that can often bring benefits.

Yes! That's why I get super uncomfortable when someone asks about doing something unethical or shady. That stuff can stick and follow you around and literally affect your career in adverse ways.

about 3 months when transitioning from the restaurant industry to sales
Never left but still early in the career
Took a 90 day hiatus from Sales and jumped into the operations side of a business and realized I just couldn't do it in operations and moved back over to sales as quickly as I could find something I enjoyed selling.
Lost my job at the start of covid. Picked up a b2c role quickly to keep the show on the road. Once I had enough cash saved I took a year out to go back to college and finish a degree. Was gone for about 13 months.
ive been super lucky, been in the workforce for 10 years and never been laid off/ taken a break.
Early COVID times… took some time to regroup and evaluate and came back stronger than ever. Longest time out of work since high school though definitely strange
I was out of work once during the 2008-9 recession for about 6months. Tough time in my life. But I never really got out of the game since job hunting is very similar to sales.
Laid off in May 2020 at the height of the pandemic. Was rough. Interviewing 3x a week but didn’t land a job I wanted until Oct. I turned down some offers and was fortunate enough to be living with my parents at the time

A spinal cord injury left me paralyzed. It took surgery and 6+ months of PT, but I started walking again. Disk in my back broke shortly after I returned to work, so had to repeat the process.
I was still trying to work sales through all of it, but I wasn’t doing well at it. Took time off, also had to get both hips & knees replaced real quick with some good ol’ titanium, then heal up a bit.
I’m back to work for a year now and getting into the swing again. I hated not being in sales! Sure, there’s a learning curve coming back after my lil’ vacation - but now I’m hungrier than ever!
I’m pretty sure sales is like riding a bike.
