What's the smallest amount you've ever seen need CEO/President approval?

We're just finishing a pilot and we need a PO for (checks notes) $13,999, but the SR VP of OPS says he can't cut a PO for that much.

I'm at a loss. So savages, what's the lowest amount you've ever seen need approval from the CEO/President?

$100K at a MM company. And it wasn't the CEO, it was the C level in charge of the budget that was being tapped.

This makes me feel better. That said, the customer in question does about $171MM annual revenue so I’m still baffled

The guy I am referencing does over $100MM in rev through all of his businesses. But when it comes to his hotels, he is a penny pinching fool.

As well as I could. I’m in manufacturing SaaS and the spending authority structures are pretty damn ridiculous. You could tell the champion (Engineering Manager) was pretty frustrated, and I reminded him that he’d end up saving the $14k in maybe at most a month based on our ROI calculations.

I had a prospect say they were bought by a small PE firm and they needed approval from someone in the C suite for anything over $500. It’s so crazy that it was probably bullshit, but who knows.

Closed a $60k deal after my manager said we’ve lost this after the two people I was speaking to didn’t feel like introducing us to the CEO until they figured out some technical aspects. It felt so good.
