What's your strategy? Follow the money or follow the customer ?

When it comes down to it I see two types of sales philosophies. Those who chase commissions and those who do everything for the customer betting on the commissions to follow. I don't think one is better than the other per-say.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I think this assumes the customer would know what’s right. They very often do not.

Knowing their pains/needs is absolutely important. But they often try to solve things in the wrong way.

Always the customer for me. I hate selling bad deals so I'm good at gracefully disengaging those that I don't think are a good fit. Once I know they will be a good fit I never push too hard, I've learned they will always come back if they say no at first

AE’s - here’s a very client-centred way to gather information about ‘WHEN’ a decision needs to be made. Doing it this way will help you shorten sales cycles and build trust. Keep in mind - not every question I ask in this example is a perfect fit for every buyer, but should give you a good place
