Which product is an essential?

which product is a must have?

Trying to set myself up for success by choosing a new company with a product that is going to be a necessity and not just a nice to have:

My options:

Salesforce

Splunk

Competitive intelligence

Rfp response software

No code website designer

Advertising DSP

Sales intelligence

What are your opinions?

Advertising, salesforce and splunk seem like the best options because people will need it no matter what happens in the world. Right?

Are you going for larger companies? Many great org's don't use SFDC as it's overkill for a lot of smaller to medium businesses. Not every company gets a lot of RFPs.

Don't be those people on house hunting shows that need everything so find nothing..

Also never heard of splunk. I'm not sure if that's best or worst name for a company/piece of software...

Love that phrase! Also love “don’t let perfect be the enemy of the good”.

Fair, good advice. I'm in the final stages with most of these companies so I'll see where I get offers from and then get more picky.

Ditto this. Splunk seemed great after I heard about them from a friend that interviewed.

It's the only one with an office in my location 👀 I really want to work in person. I hate remote working.

What’s your situation? Just getting started, or looking to jump from a different company?

Jumping from a different company. It's a start up and I think it's going under, there has been no sales leadership for about 2 months now.

Thanks, that makes sense. You’re not just starting out and aiming high - you’re mitigating risk in your next job and looking for highly rated stable employers.

Selling services around SF isn't a bad gig, if you can get it. Most companies which buy SF usually are jumping in WAY over their heads.
Security will ALWAYS be needed. Whether its Splunk (awful name) or some other company, is up to you. They come and go.
Low code/no code is a niche, and maybe a fad?
Advertising is cut throat, but companies need to do it.

Tools depend upon the company and it goals as you don’t want to stack something that you will never use.

Anything that helps companies mitigate risk. Companies seem more willing to spend money on something that protects them from something bad happening (compliance risk, lawsuit, external threat) than they are willing to spend money on something that offers the promise of something good (increasing productivity, improving efficiency, boosting morale, etc.).

CyberSecurity and Big Data reps get paid the most. "Must Have". CEOs get fired if miss on those 2 decisions so they have huge budgets.

SF and splunk are great companies. Seems like you are going for stability for what is most likely going to happen in the near future.

No code website designer seems to be hot right now. Not sure what your long term goals are though.
