Win Recognition

I need help - one part of our company says we need a Purchase Order to close win, while the other part of our company says we need only a signed quote with terms referenced and, if applicable, an MSA. PO can follow later. How does your company work?

What really counts? Money received.

Otherwise its what you company's rules are (generally mutually agreed upon between the CFO and Legal).

Argh, hit wrong thing. MSA in place and a signed order form. Ops moves the deal to closed/won.

I will then help get the PO number and have been known to chase down an invoice, because that’s how I get paid. Quota still retired as of execution date.

I think most operate like this. When you get paid out is often a little different though.

In my recent orgs it has been a signed agreement for closed won. IT didn't really matter though because I wouldn't get paid until the client paid their bill.

You must sign the Order Form to get recognized and closed won. MSA can be signed with it if applicable.

With how many shenanigans I deal with, I don't consider something won until it is booked and invoiced.
My comp plan doesn't credit my attainment until it's invoiced anyway, so that's what actually matters.
