Won Deal!!

I finally had my first deal go all the way through and close today as an SDR! I know all I did was book the initial meeting but from an outbound perspective I am pumped! At my company I get 1.5% of the closing deal, is that a normal amount?

What commission do you get when a deal closes as an SDR?

When I was an SDR, I got paid on qualified opps I sent thru, not deals closed.

Never been an SDR, but you should be paid on qualified opps not closed deals.

You have 0 control over what happens when it leaves your hands, and probably 0 control over who it goes to. 

It's not your fault if you set the ball perfectly and they mess up the spike.

That's a great feeling, isn't it?    Congratulations.

Most SDR/BDRs don't get anything on a close.  They stopped working on the lead once they passed an opportunity, and got paid based on that. 

However, the thrill of seeing a lead go to close is why many people pursue a sales career.  It's fun to win!
